A new creative chapter is beginning in Orange County with the launch of the Orange County Writers’ Group, sponsored by Spelled Ink, the independent bookstore at 132 West Main Street in downtown Orange. The group welcomes writers of all backgrounds and experience levels to come together in a spirit of creativity, collaboration, and shared growth.
Led by author Caryn Moya Block, the Writers’ Group is designed to be a welcoming place where both seasoned authors and beginners can exchange ideas, share their work, and strengthen their skills. “We want to provide a nurturing environment that encourages self-expression and creativity,” Block said. “Whether you’re polishing your latest manuscript or exploring new genres, everyone is welcome.”
Recognizing that feedback can be both helpful and delicate, the group places a strong emphasis on respect and encouragement. “Our goal is to ensure that all members feel safe to express themselves,” Block added. “We promote comments that are supportive and aimed at helping fellow writers develop their craft.”
The Writers’ Group meets on the third Thursday of each month at 6 p.m., offering an opportunity for local writers to find encouragement, community, and new inspiration among peers who share their passion for storytelling.
Spelled Ink owner Cindy Pagan said hosting the group fits perfectly with the store’s mission to support creativity and connection.
“Writers thrive in collaborative environments,” Pagan said. “We’re thrilled to support this group and look forward to seeing the creative flow it inspires.”
Spelled Ink, known for its cozy atmosphere and wide selection of new and used books, has quickly become a favorite stop for local readers and writers alike. By hosting the Orange County Writers’ Group, the shop strengthens its role as a hub for community and creativity in downtown Orange.
Writers at any stage of their journey are invited to join. Whether you’re looking for feedback, inspiration, or simply a sense of camaraderie, the group offers an open door and a warm welcome.

Hi! I’m Jennifer Bailey and I partner with entrepreneurs who have massive ideas that could change the world. Most marketing is meaningless. Filled with empty promises, its only job is to bring in new traffic, new leads, and new customers. But I’ve drawn a line in the sand, and I’ve learned that marketing can do so much more than reach business goals and build profit. My methods give businesses the fire and soul they need to reach the right people, set the groundwork for sustainable relationships, and offer true value to the people on both the giving and receiving ends of marketing.
