Woodbrook Farm Vineyard, located near Montpelier Station, received nine first-place honors in this year’s Best of Orange awards. The vineyard was named #1 for Best Outdoor Event Venue, Winery, Wine Selection, Karaoke Venue, Indoor Entertainment, Place to See Local Music, Place to Make New Friends, Locals Hangout, and Local Music Venue. The business also earned the Diamond Award, recognizing the highest number of category wins overall.

Although Woodbrook Farm Vineyard is a recent addition to Orange County’s wine industry, the property’s history extends back decades. The land was formerly Woodbrook Farm, a Thoroughbred and steeplechase training facility operated by the Twyman family. Delmar Twyman was inducted into both the Virginia Horse Shows Association Hall of Fame and the National Show Hunter Hall of Fame. His son, Noel Twyman, also earned induction into both halls of fame and continued the family’s work in equestrian training.
The family chose to retain the Woodbrook Farm name when transitioning the property into a vineyard. The first vines were planted in 2022. The former training barn now serves as the tasting room, preserving much of the structure’s original character.
The vineyard’s equestrian history remains visible across the property. Its logo incorporates stylized jockey silks inspired by the colors associated with the Twyman family. Architectural elements of the barn, including exposed beams, have been maintained as part of the tasting room design.
Woodbrook Farm Vineyard has become a regular gathering place for residents and visitors. In addition to wine tastings, the venue hosts live music, karaoke nights, and seasonal events. The number of entertainment-related awards reflects its growing presence as both a winery and an event space within Orange County.
The Diamond Award underscores the breadth of support the vineyard received across categories. For a business established within the past several years, the recognition marks an early milestone in its development.
The Twyman family has credited local patrons and partnerships with contributing to the vineyard’s growth. Staff members with ties to the region play a role in its day to day operations and event programming.

Hi! I’m Jennifer Bailey and I partner with entrepreneurs who have massive ideas that could change the world. Most marketing is meaningless. Filled with empty promises, its only job is to bring in new traffic, new leads, and new customers. But I’ve drawn a line in the sand, and I’ve learned that marketing can do so much more than reach business goals and build profit. My methods give businesses the fire and soul they need to reach the right people, set the groundwork for sustainable relationships, and offer true value to the people on both the giving and receiving ends of marketing.
