For nearly five decades, Skydive Orange has been inviting people to do something most only imagine: step to the edge, take a breath, and trust the sky.
Founded in 1977 and located at the Orange County Airport, Skydive Orange is Northern Virginia’s largest and most established skydiving center. Over the years, it has earned a reputation as the region’s go-to destination for first-time jumpers, experienced skydivers, and anyone looking to test the limits of their comfort zone in the safest possible way.
The drop zone operates at Orange County Airport, where it offers tandem skydiving, Accelerated Freefall (AFF) training, and opportunities for licensed sport skydivers. Tandem jumps are typically conducted from altitudes of up to 14,000 feet above ground level, providing extended freefall time before parachute deployment.
Skydive Orange operates turbine-powered aircraft designed for skydiving and among the largest jump planes in Virginia, allowing multiple jumpers to ascend together. According to the organization, the aircraft, equipment, and procedures are selected to support both safety and operational efficiency.
Safety remains a central focus of the operation. All jumps are conducted by U.S. Parachute Association–certified instructors using modern parachute systems and industry-standard equipment. First-time jumpers are securely harnessed to an instructor throughout the experience, while licensed skydivers follow established safety protocols and airspace procedures.
From altitude, jumpers descend over rural Orange County and surrounding farmland before landing back at the drop zone. For many visitors, the experience marks a first exposure to skydiving, while for others it is part of ongoing training or regular sport jumping.
In recent years, Skydive Orange has continued to invest in its facilities. The drop zone features a modern hangar with air-conditioned classrooms, padded packing floors, multi-stall restrooms with showers, and space for guests to view post-jump videos. A fully stocked gear store supports students and experienced jumpers.
Skydive Orange operates year-round on weekends, weather permitting. During the summer season, operations typically expand to include weekday jumps and select federal holidays, with appointments offered late morning through early afternoon.

Hi! I’m Jennifer Bailey and I partner with entrepreneurs who have massive ideas that could change the world. Most marketing is meaningless. Filled with empty promises, its only job is to bring in new traffic, new leads, and new customers. But I’ve drawn a line in the sand, and I’ve learned that marketing can do so much more than reach business goals and build profit. My methods give businesses the fire and soul they need to reach the right people, set the groundwork for sustainable relationships, and offer true value to the people on both the giving and receiving ends of marketing.
