The Orange County Board of Supervisors held its annual organizational meeting Jan. 5, selecting leadership for the year, confirming meeting logistics, and making appointments to committees, boards, commissions, and authorities.
The Board unanimously elected J. Bryan Nicol, District Five, to serve as chair. Ed M. Van Hoven, District Two, was elected vice chair. The Board also appointed Glenda Paul as clerk and LaToya Smith as deputy clerk.
As part of the meeting, supervisors approved the 2026 regular meeting schedule and reviewed the Board’s bylaws. Regular meetings will continue at 5 p.m. at the Orange County Public Safety Building on the second and fourth Tuesdays from January through October 2026. A special meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 18, at the Lake of the Woods Clubhouse. December meetings are scheduled for the first and third Tuesdays at 5 p.m. at the Public Safety Building.
The Orange County Board of Supervisors is composed of the following members: J. Jason Capelle (District One), Ed M. Van Hoven (District Two, vice chair), Keith F. Marshall (District Three), Crystal D. Hale (District Four), and J. Bryan Nicol (District Five, chair).
